Rune of the Keymaster's Writ Added

Class LegacyRunesKeysKeycopy

A new Class Legacy rune has entered the wasteland: the Rune of the Keymaster's Writ.

Prestige players who have earned and carried a real key can use keycopy <key> to remember that key pattern for the current login or until reboot.

The command does not create permanent keys or replace finding the real key first. It simply rewards players who already earned the lock.

Older big-game NPCs have also received Spike Guard backfills where older mob files were missing the newer stat.

NukeBlasted Scrapyard Teaches Crafting

NewbieCraftingMaterialsTeklords

A new beginner area has opened: NukeBlasted Scrapyard.

The zone introduces new players to NukeFire's crafting system by teaching material drops, addmat, saved materials, and starter crafting rewards.

Teklords crafting also received a major material-system update, with more than 100 materials moved into long-term saved material storage.

The track skill also received better messaging and now supports compact combat and screen-reader modes.

Core Quality-of-Life and Equipment Fixes

DeathNumbersEquipmentBotting

An old death-state issue has been corrected so Health, Mana, and Movement are all restored to 1 after death as intended.

Large numbers are now easier to read in several places, including identify output, experience messages, and prompt figures.

Equipment handling has been tightened so wear all, wield, and dual wield follow the same core logic, including Mutant and Kaiju limb rules.

Zone entry information around the botting flag has also been updated to make expectations clearer.

Reader and Compact Combat Updates

ReaderCompact CombatCombatAccessibility

A new reader toggle has been added for players who actively use screen readers.

When enabled, certain high-volume combat skills summarize repeated output instead of sending long floods of individual combat lines.

Compact combat has also been improved with cleaner end-of-round summaries that keep useful feedback while reducing scroll.

Heavy gunfire and other repeated actions can now resolve into clearer summaries showing shots, hits, misses, and raw damage.

Dectra Chain Receives a Balance and Load Pass

Dectra ChainJennyMobsObjects

Dectra Chain, also known as Jenny, has been made less punishing and more rewarding to explore.

More mobs and objects have been added to the zone, and load rates have been improved.

The goal is to keep the Deathlands edge intact while making the area flow better for players working through it.

Bigmap Gets Memory and Legend Controls

BigmapMapMemoryGPS

Bigmap received under-the-hood improvements and should now play more nicely with GPS routing.

Players can now use map memory on, map memory off, and map memory reset to control map memory behavior.

Players who prefer less header information can also use the new map legend options to tune what is displayed.

Skynet GPS Receives a Major Upgrade

GPSRoutesAreasGMCP

The Skynet GPS network has received a major upgrade with cleaner, smarter, and more useful route guidance.

GPS routes now calculate more reliably, display cleaner remaining paths, and support commands such as gps status, gps route, and gps nearest.

Area searching is tied more cleanly into the GPS destination network, and supported clients now receive cleaner Char.GPS GMCP data.

The Drowned Harbor of Saint Orison Opens

Saint OrisonLow LevelNew ZoneHarbor

The Drowned Harbor of Saint Orison has opened as a 400-room lower-level zone chain.

The chain moves through sunken docks, dead crews, rotting shipyards, grave-salted uplands, and corpse-haunted redoubts.

Players will find new rooms, mobs, bosses, and a focused set of equipment, tattoos, and implants aimed at newer progression.

Old Summons Return and Mega-City One Grows

SummonsSword of PredationPaladinMega-City One

Some old TDOME powers have returned to NukeFire through the newer follower system.

The Slinger skill Sword of Predation and the Curist call Paladin are back, using summon sword and summon paladin.

The helper cap has been raised, limited order support has returned, and abandoned summons now clean themselves up safely.

Mega-City One also continues to grow with more high-end tattoos, socket jewels, and implant modules.

About NukeFire

Welcome to TDome NukeFire - Beyond Thunderdome. NukeFire is a vast and evolving MUD rooted in the spirit of the original Thunderdome of Missoula, MT, reborn with new systems, deeper lore, and a thriving community.

From the moment you enter, you are greeted not just by a login prompt, but by a living world. A global alert welcomes new players, and veterans are quick to offer help, gear, and guidance. It is a culture built on respect, shaped over years, and fueled by daily interaction.

At the heart of NukeFire is a powerful remort system built for limitless progression. Players begin in a wide variety of base classes, then unlock new combinations through remorting, including prestige paths that open advanced superclasses. Each remort is more than a reset - it is a rebirth, layering in meaningful growth to your damage, armor, movement, resistances, regeneration, and more.

Character customization runs deep. With dozens of tattoo and implant slots, your build becomes uniquely yours, granting powerful effects and active abilities. At higher tiers, you can even bind gear directly to your soul as permanent upgrades that continue to grow with you.

NukeFire's world is massive and handcrafted, with over 23,000 rooms and 200+ zones spanning haunted ruins, techno-wastes, deserts, and labyrinthine strongholds. Many areas are open from the start, while others unlock through secrets, keys, and high-tier trials.

Endgame is where the game becomes intensely social and strategic. Multi-group raids pit players against superbosses and dynamic events that can reshape zones, open hidden paths, and drop rare loot. Leveling is only the beginning - survival at the top requires teamwork.

The immortals of NukeFire are active and involved. Expect live fixes, help recovering lost gear, and world events that keep things fun, unpredictable, and alive.

NukeFire is brutal, beautiful, and built to last. Come for the depth, stay for the people.

Character Classes

Choose from 13 base classes and 9 prestige classes, each with unique abilities and progression paths.

Assassin

Assassins are enigmatic figures who pursue high-stakes targets. Their methods are shrouded in secrecy, marked by cruelty, and carried out with surgical precision.

Barbarian

Barbarians are mighty, fearless fighters capable of taking on most adversaries. Even so, they often rely on Curists for healing and Slingers for devastating magic.

Curist

Curists are devout followers of ancient traditions who channel the power of their gods. Their divine gifts can empower allies, fortify the self, and ignite debate over the true source of their miracles.

Cyborg

Cyborgs are technologically advanced humans rebuilt with genetic upgrades and cybernetic implants. They gain powerful abilities and unique vulnerabilities while still clinging to what remains of their humanity.

Fanatic

Fanatics are gun-toting zealots who fuse brutal battle-prayers with close-quarters firepower. Tougher than most gunners and less refined than true casters, they gladly trade blood for one more miracle.

Infiltrator

Infiltrators are covert operatives who slip through shadows, locks, and patrol routes to reach their objective. They excel at stealth, precision strikes, and disappearing before anyone realizes what went wrong.

Knight

Knights are holy warriors trained in both combat and crucial skills. They embody valor and honor, drawing inspiration from legendary champions like Arthur and Charlemagne.

Mutant

Mutants are survivors of radiation-scoured wastelands, twisted and hardened by the world that made them. They are both wretched and terrifyingly powerful.

Pirate

The drunken swashbuckler. Pirates are daring, cunning adventurers of the high seas, known for their love of treasure, free-spirited lifestyle, and brutal talent for close-range combat.

Ranger

Rangers are guardians of the wilderness, skilled trackers, and masters of natural terrain. Their talents help them traverse the wild, survive the unknown, and overcome deadly obstacles.

Samurai

Samurai are prestigious and disciplined warriors who live by the ancient code of bushido. They forge body and soul into weapons of honor, skill, and unwavering control.

Slinger

Slingers wield potent spells unmatched by most other MUDs. They avoid heavy melee combat and restrictive armor, but in groups they shine as devastating allies - and at higher levels, become terrifying solo threats.

Vagrant

Slippery and skilled, Vagrants excel in knife combat and dirty fighting. At higher levels, they read enemy movements, strike opportunistically, and vanish before retaliation lands.

Prestige Classes

Headhunter

Cybernetically enhanced bounty-hunters who mix gadgets, brutality, and battlefield support to bring targets down fast.
