As you turn away, your rite lashes back at your foe, scoring flesh and spirit before you slip clear of the room. When a concealed gun is hidden on your person, the pivot may answer with a sudden shot through the swirling ash. Ashen Pivot is an Occultist escape art meant for close pressure and ugly disengagement. It is not a main gun skill, and it does not depend on your visible weapon. Instead, it lets you wound a foe on the way out, disrupt their footing, and vanish from the line before they can close again. <Syntax> pivot <direction> <Syntax> pivot <Requires> Occultist <Requires> Must be fighting <Cost> Movement and mana <Target> Current opponent, then self movement <Effects> Strikes your current target with occult force before you leave the room. <Effects> Can weaken the target's accuracy and evasiveness for a short time. <Effects> May fire a concealed gun as part of the pivot if one is available and ready. <Effects> Breaks combat and moves you into the chosen direction. <Effects> If no direction is given, a direction is chosen at random. <Limits> Cannot be used unless you are fighting. <Limits> Cannot be used without enough movement and mana. <Limits> Cannot pass into a death room. <Limits> Blocked in rooms flagged NO_WARP. <Limits> Blocked in random generation rooms. <Notes> Ashen Pivot is a skirmishing escape, not a devotion art. <Notes> It pairs well with concealed guns and close pressure. <Notes> Use it to wound, break contact, and reposition before the enemy can recover.
