Fightspeed (FS / Combat Speed)
------------------------------------------
Fightspeed determines how quickly your turn comes around in combat.
The lower your fightspeed number, the faster you act.
Minimum Speed:
- The lowest possible FS is 2 (fastest).
How It Works:
- Your class gives a Base Speed (check with afx).
- Equipment, carried weight, total items, and active spells apply
penalties (+FS) or bonuses (-FS).
- All these are summed to adjust your base value.
Example:
Base FS = 10, Gear = -5 FS → Final FS = 5
Base FS = 8, Gear = -12 FS → Final FS = 2 (lowest possible is 2), with -6 FS of buffer.
That buffer can absorb up to +6 FS worth of penalties before slowing you down.
When It’s Your Turn:
Once your FS triggers a new round, your total Hits Per Round (HPR) determines
how many attacks you make during that turn.
Factors That Affect Fightspeed:
- Armor Penalties: Heavy AC can slow you.
- Dexterity: High dex gives bonuses; low dex adds delay.
- Total Items: Carrying too many items increases FS.
- Weight: Total carried + worn weight impacts FS.
- Spells: Effects like poison, blindness, chill touch increase FS.
- Gear: Some items provide -FS bonuses or +FS penalties.
