It drinks in the force of the attack, twists it through heretical will, and feeds part of that stolen suffering back into you as mana. This gives the Heretic a true shield identity deep into remort play. Where most endgame fighters abandon the shield for more offense, the Heretic embraces it as a source of endurance, dark power, and battlefield control. Shield of Sacrilege is meant to be a major defensive class feature for Heretics who continue to fight behind a shield. Usage: Shield of Sacrilege is automatic. While fighting with a shield equipped, incoming attacks may be partially absorbed by your heretical ward. When this happens, the damage is greatly reduced and part of the prevented force is fed back to you as mana. Effects: - Requires a shield to function. - May greatly reduce incoming damage on a successful proc. - Returns mana based on the damage prevented. - Strongly rewards shield-based Heretic play. - Functions as a passive defensive engine during combat. - Pairs naturally with other Heretic flame and ward effects. Costs: - No direct activation cost. - Requires a shield to be equipped. Restrictions: - Heretic only. - Requires the proper Heretic remort unlock. - Only functions while a shield is equipped. - Only functions during combat when taking damage.
