SHOOT2

reference
The shooting mechanic is different than the melee mechanic. Shooting is based loosely on the D&D 5e system, using D20's. The flow is somewhat like this: To-Hit roll is determined by the opponents armor class. - if their AC is 1000, you need to achieve a roll of 8 - if their AC is -1900, you need to achieve a roll of 16 Next we need to see if you, the shooter, has advantage over the target. This is very impactful on the outcome. Imagine this scenario: The target is sleeping. You how have advantage. You get to roll TWO d20's and take the HIGHEST. -or- You are blinded. You now have disadvantage. You get to roll TWO d20's and take the LOWEST. -or- They are sleeping and you are blind. What a shitshow! Regardless, you have neither advantage or disadvantage, and you roll just the one d20. The actual systems is a bit more nuanced, but you get the idea. Ok, so you got your d20 roll. And you have your to-hit target. Now we add modifiers. Lets say you rolled a 14, and you are trying to get to 16 to hit that mob with ac -1900. You need two more or you miss! This is where the final step comes into play. Modifiers. These slightly affect the outcome of your roll. Things like are you more dextrious than your target? How skilled are you at shooting? What's your hitroll? If you have positive modifiers to your roll, you just might get to the 16 you need!
